Free home inventory spreadsheet template
A ready-to-fill home inventory spreadsheet for insurance. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. Rooms are pre-filled with the items people forget, totals calculate themselves, and a summary tab shows replacement value per room. No signup, no email.

What's in it
- Inventory tab with the columns adjusters usually ask for: room, item, brand, model or serial, quantity, age, purchase price, replacement cost, and a reference to the photo or video frame.
- Auto totals: quantity times replacement cost per line.
- Summary tab: item count and replacement total for every room, plus a grand total you can compare with your contents coverage limit.
- 10 rooms pre-filled with common items (kitchen, bedrooms, office, garage, attic and more), with blank rows to add your own.
Google Sheets
Download the XLSX, then in Google Drive choose New, File upload, and open it with Google Sheets. Formulas carry over.
How to fill it in fast
Work room by room with the room-by-room checklist. Use replacement cost (what it costs new today), group small items ("t-shirts, 14"), and note where your proof is: a photo file name or a video timestamp. More on what adjusters want to see.
Or skip the typing
Most homes have several hundred items, so filling this in by hand takes a weekend. If you'd rather not, film one walkthrough with your phone and we send this same spreadsheet back filled in, with a PDF and the video frame for each item.
General information, not insurance advice. Your policy wording decides what's covered.
Skip the spreadsheet work. Film one 10 to 20 minute walkthrough of your home with your phone. Within 48 hours you get a room-by-room inventory spreadsheet and PDF with item, brand/model where visible, quantity, an estimated replacement cost range and the video frame each item came from. $39 per home.
